What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience.  As an employee, you can earn as you learn and you can gain practical skills from the workplace.

Do I get paid?

Yes, you will get paid an annual salary direct into your bank account on a monthly basis.

What does it involve?

Our Apprenticeships include the following components: A minimum of 16 hours per week paid employment, a knowledge based element, a competence based element, transferable key skills and a module on employment rights and responsibilities.

How long does it take?

The length of an Apprenticeship varies depending on prior skill levels of the apprentice and the qualification being obtained.  Generally our Apprenticeships last between one and two years.

Do I get holidays?

Yes, you will get 20 days' paid plus bank holidays.

Will an Apprenticeship give me a good career?

Career progression is excellent for apprentices, and over the course of their careers, those with Apprenticeships earn, on average, £100,000 more than those without. (A cost-Benefit Analysis and Other Vocational Qualifications, University of Sheffield, 2007)

There will be many opportunities within the Sports Industry Premier Sports Group available for Apprentices upon completion.  Having been trained in a variety of sections within the company Apprentices will ideally placed to secure full time roles.

When can I start?

August 2010 and onwards, Apprenticeships start in line with the academic calender.
